Immigration; Will your furry family members immigrate with you?

Immigration; Will your furry family members immigrate with you?

Article by Lindsay Wagner

Passports for pets are becoming increasingly popular among potential immigrants. There’s no question about it – your pets are family. Fortunately, there’s no need to cast your pets aside. Your furry friends can immigrate with you.

Just because they’re not human, doesn’t mean that they haven’t made a difference in your life. It’s not crazy to view your pet as a very important part of your family. In fact, many people, like you regard their pets to be loving, feeling and generous beings.

It’s a known fact that animals have the amazing ability to calm their owners and promote positive emotions. So, besides the fact that if they’re left behind, they most probably will suffer from separation anxiety, they will most likely help you ease into your new home and country.

Of course, there are a few restrictions in regards to pet immigration in various countries.

Besides considering the pet fare, you’ll have to get into the ‘nitty gritty, of pet immigration. It’s not a very simple process but it is very possible. For example, if you’re immigrating to New Zealand consider that this country only accepts cats and dogs. Unfortunately, no other kinds of pets can gain access to New Zealand. So, if you have a parrot or pet rabbit called bunny, you’ll have to find a loving home for it in your homeland. Also, consider the following. Animals are required to come through Auckland International Airport. Most animals are subject to quarantine. This depends on which country they are from. Your pet will typically spend at least 6 months in their departure country and will require full vaccinations. A Subcutaneous chip comes standard.

In most instances, pets will also require a rabies lab test at least three weeks after vaccination. Vaccinations for your pets include the following: for dogs (Rabies (Except UK and Australia), Distemper, Hepatitis, Adenovirus 2, Parainfluenza, Bordatella, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus. For cats (Rabies (Except UK and Australia), Panleukopnia, Rhinotrachetis, Calicivirus. If you need more information regarding the rules and regulation of pets, visit the Ministry for Agriculture and Foristry.

The lab test result identifies the animal by its identity chip number. This chip must be at least 6 months old before the animal will be eligible for importation. Be sure to handle this in advance. If you fail to do so, you may be without your pet for several months.

A Permit to Import may be required.

This does not apply to animals from Australia and the UK. Your pet may also have to undergo a period of quarantine. There’s no way of telling what the specific set period will be. In fact, could be kept in quarantine for up to a month or longer. Take into consideration that shipping pets is a very expensive exercise and could cost you over 00 NZ Dollars!

Although, if your pet or pets do not need to be quarantined before applying for a permit to import, you must contact a quarantine facility in New Zealand to reserve a space for your pet or pets. Keep in mind that when you book a space the quarantine facility will send you a letter of confirmation. This letter must be included with your permit application.

Certainly, you’ll need to ensure that your loved one is well kitted. All animal products, this includes pet food and poultry feather meal products require Import Health Standards. If your pet requires medication, you may be able to import the medicine. You’ll need approval from Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Group.

What is The Import Health Standards (IHS)?These are documents that detail the import conditions for live animals and animal products into New Zealand. These documents define the conditions that must (if an import is made), be met in the country of origin or of export. This applies to the period during the transit of importation and quarantine. What’s more, the ISH will be able to tell you whether you need a permit to Import or Post Entry quarantine.

Pretty Useful, don’t you think?

There are many factors to consider and to remember. These are important as to ensure that your pet arrives safely and is well cared for. If you indent to import your cat or dog, be sure to check the requirements in the personal travel section. Note that cats and dogs coming from Australia, United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Hawaii and Singapore are not required to undergo a period of quarantine, but they do require certification. These pets will however be inspected for ticks on arrival.

Canada Immigration – So, what if you’re immigration to Canada? If you are immigrating to Canada, you will need to have medical documents showing that your pet is healthy. You’ll also be required to follow certain procedures while crossing the border. Take into account that all documents for your pets are required to be documented in English or French.

Note that if you’re importing puppy pets under 3 months old, you don’t require documents for them. Although, for all cats and dogs older than 3 months, you’ll have to prove, perhaps via medical certificates, that they don’t have rabies. Thankfully, if you are coming from a country recognised as rabies-free, you have to get a document from a veterinarian who works for a government veterinary service in your home country. The vet will then have to state that there have been no cases of rabies in your country for at least 6 months. The vet will also be required to state that your cat or dog have been in the country throughout this time.

Have a look at the following. At present the following countries are recognised by the government of Canada as rabies-free. These countries are: Antigua, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Fiji, Finland, Iceland, Ireland (Republic of), Jamaica, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla, St. Lucia, St. Martin (Netherlands Antilles), St. Pierre et Miquelon Islands, St. Vincent, Sweden, Taiwan, Turks and Caicos Islands, United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) and Uruguay.

As for Australia?

In regards to pet registration, you should contact the National Pet Register (NPR) which is a wide free pet ID service. The NPR operates throughout Australia for 24 hrs a day through the year. There’s simply no excuse not to register your pet!A valid pass port will come in handy too!

By the looks of it, there are many factors to keep in mind. It’ll do you and your pet good to research about your future countries animal import policies. Be sure to check the rules of the carrier that you plan to use to transport your pet.

At the end of the day, all the trouble’s well worth it when you hold your furry friend in your arms, in your new country.

If you’re not keen to leave without your loved ones, perhaps you should chat to a contact an Immigration consultant?

Cruise Trends: Cruise Lines Highlighting Less Crowded Caribbean Islands

Cruise Trends: Cruise Lines Highlighting Less Crowded Caribbean Islands

Article by John Anton

Expect to see a new trend in Caribbean cruises over the next few years as cruise lines develop new ports of call. After years following the same itineraries, cruise lines are seeking out newer, less crowded destinations.

“Most Caribbean cruises follow one of two routes,” says Paul Motter, editor of CruiseMates, “The typical Western Caribbean itinerary goes to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel; the standard Eastern Caribbean sojourn stops in St Thomas, St Martin and a Bahamian island.”

These itineraries lead to a hoard of travelers descending on the same islands.

“Bigger and bigger ships frequently arrive in the same ports on the same day as they service the same itineraries,” says Motter.

For major stops like Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas, it is not unusual to have five ships arriving each day during high season, each dropping up to 3,000 passengers on the town.

“Does this make sense?” asks Motter, “Absolutely not.”

To avoid the crowds some cruise lines are seeking out quieter ports of call.

Carnival Cruise Lines recently announced a new itinerary for its ship Carnival Destiny featuring stops at less-visited ports in the Southern Caribbean, including St. Kitts and St. Lucia.

In the Western Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Holland American feature stops at the Guatemalan port of Santo Tomas, which began receiving cruise ships only four years ago.

But travel experts predict that the next major cruise destination will be the Honduran island of Roatan.

“Roatan is beautiful and unspoiled,” says local travel agent Gary Miller of TropicalRez, “It’s what the rest of the Caribbean was like 20 or 30 years ago.”

In many ways Roatan is an ideal destination for American travelers. The island features tropical scenery, sugar white beaches without the crowds and first rate scuba diving.

Just as appealing, islanders speak English, partly because early settlers came from the British colonies, and partly because of an influx of American and British diving enthusiasts over the past decade.

Already over a third of visitors to Roatan come via cruise ship. Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland American and Norwegian Cruises currently stop at the island as part of their Western Caribbean cruise routes.

But ship traffic is still light by Caribbean standards. Only nineteen cruise ships stopped at the island during January 2008. That may change in the next few years.

Royal Caribbean has just signed a deal to build a million extension to the island’s cruise terminal.

Carnival Cruise Lines is spending million on its own port of call. To be called Mahogany Bay, the new port will feature shops, restaurants and bars and have the capacity to handle up to 7,000 visitors per day.

All of which begs the question, as the cruise lines seek to get away from the crowds, will they spoil paradise?

“I’m not too worried about that,” says Miller, “Right now we’re so much less developed than the better-known Caribbean islands, it will take a long time for us to get where they are today.”

Buzzirk Mobile vs FDI International The Real Story

Buzzirk Mobile vs FDI International The Real Story

Article by Gregory Toussaint Jr

Hype versus History, Buzzirk Mobile versus FDI International! FDI International’s foundation is built on GI Connect’s 16 Years in the Telecommunication Industry in 62 plus countries. Our comp plan is not limited to 3×9, nor 6×4…

I want to outline the detailed differences between Buzzirk Mobile vs FDI International, so that you can make an informed decision. I have opted to put this piece together because of the avalanche of phone calls that I have taken from Buzzirk Mobile reps all week long. I have had Buzzirk representatives that have seen the writing on the walls, join my organization just about everyday this week. I have been able to provide them details that led them to making a positive move into a direction that has extreme upside potential and very minimal risk.

You will be blown away with the details that I’m going to provide you. You will clearly understand the differences between both entities, clearly.

Let’s start with the technology:

Buzzirk Mobile 6-way video conf. vs FDI International 23-way video conf.Buzzirk Mobile International is Unlimited vs FDI International International is UnlimitedBuzzirk has Unlimited Data Plans vs FDI International has Unlimited Data PlansBuzzirk can tether to a Laptop vs FDI International can tether to a laptop while talking on the phone, without a usb cable (wirelessly)FDI International: Our video phone works even if the other user is on a webcam calling you. The other caller does not need to be on video cellphone.

I have a Picture of our phone in a ex-Buzzirk reps hand from a meeting this past weekend. This is Real Folks. If you want to see the picture, call me.

There’s more regarding the technology, but my main point is that what Buzzirk said that they can do, IS NOT Exclusive. We have been doing this for 16 years in over 62 countries.

We touch all 7 Categores of the Telecom Industry. This is major point that separates us from the competition.

1. Residential2. Corporate Solutions3. Telephony Equipment We provide top of the line, state of the art telephony products that will have you well ahead of the technology curve.4. Calling Cards ( Billion Industry by itself) You customers will be able to print virtual calling cards right off your website. The most exciting part about this is, that you get to set the rates.5. What good is just two price points. You are leaving out an entire segment of people that don’t use phone for anything but to talk, so why should they pay .

Now Let’s Talk about the MONEY:

When it comes down to the comp plans, Buzzirk Mobile and FDi International should not even be mentioned in the same Universe, much less breath.

default St Martins Yard Fire, Northampton 20 July 2009

I went to Birmingham the other Sunday and got off the bus to hear the bells just happened to be ringing! Here is part of a peal of Yorkshire on the sicteen bells of St Martin in the Bullring in Birmingham. It was a peal by the Lancashire Association, 5314 changes in 3 hours and 58 minutes. The video shows some of the buildings local to St Martins which are part of the Bullring complex, including the intruiguing shiny Selfridges building! The sound of the bells echoes around the long curved building of Borders directly opposite and produces some odd acousitc effects, like the bells suddenly becoming loud when one stands in a certain spot.
