Short video scenes of St Martin’s Island, a coral Island of immense beauty, mostly unknown to tourists. St. Martin’s Island is in the northeast part of the Bay of Bengal, southermost part of Bangladesh, around 10 km south of the tip of the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf peninsula. It is only a few Kms West of of the northwest coast of Myanmar. In fact one can see the coast of Myanmar (Burma)as one sails from Teknaf to the Island. There is no electricity on the Island but the hotels hae generators. In the evenings, the one main street on the Island is lit by shops burning kerosene in their hurricane lamps. The people are beautiful.

I am so glad to finally see a video of the island. Most people just show the ferry or the dock. It would be great to see some on island stuff from your next trip. How interested/knowlegable is the average Bangladeshi person about the environment of the island?
Thank you very much. I will be visiting the Island next January. I will try to do a new video but this time concentrate more on the people who live there.
Love it.
